Layover in Shanghai
Nov 7, 2016 22:04
guest81716 Hello,
I'm traveling with my family from LAX to MNL however we have an 8 hour layover in Shanghai. Do we need Visa's to leave the airport to go sightseeing for a few hours in Shanghai?

On our return flight From MNL to LAX we have a 7 hour layover in Hong Kong. Same question, will we need a visa to leave the airport for sightseeing in Hong Kong? If so, could you direct me to where I can obtain the Visa's?

I really appreciate your time and assistance!

GUEST04154 Well, as you hold US passport, you don't need the visa for HK. You can enjoy the visa-free transit policy in Shanghai, so the visa is not required either. And you can go for a tour in the city during the layover.

GUEST04154 I advise you to go to the the Bund and the nearby Nanjing Road, or the Yuyuan Garden. They are the most popular sites in Shanghai.
