guest62419 We are American and we are going to visit Hongkong for a week. During this time if we want to go to Shanghai for 2 days, can we qualify for the free 72 hour visa? Thanks.

GUEST04154 If you will go from Hong Kong to Shanghai and then return to Hong Kong, you cannot use the 72h free transit. If you go from HK to Shanghai and then to a different country, you are eligible for the 144h free transit there.

GUEST47021 I am a Greek citizen living temporarily in the Philippines and I want to travel to China. When I inquired at the PRC Consulate in Manila if I can apply for visa they told me that I can only apply in the embassy of PRC in Athens. My question is: Can I courier my passport to a friend or relative in Athens and authorize them to apply for the Multiple Visa to China and courier my passport back to Manila? Thanks / I.S.

GUEST40882 No, you can't do this. You need to go back to Athens to apply for the visa.

GUEST58034 I have a United States Passport and I am a US citizen. I will be traveling to various countries in Asia. I would really like to visit Shenzhen, so I was wondering if I could do this and have the 72-hour visa apply:

1) I can book a flight from Manila (Philippines) to Guangdong. According to what I read, you can transit anywhere in the Guangdong province, which seems to include Shenzhen, is this correct?

2) Then, within 72 hours, I could then return back to Guangdong, and catch a flight to Bangkok.

So, what I would like to know, is it possible to do the 1st question, that is go to Shenzhen from Guangdong?

And 2nd, it does seem this should qualify for the 72-hour visa, or would there be some other reason it does not?
