My plan was stay in Beijing for less than 24 hours, and get the train to Tianjing and fly into Japan (much cheaper than Beijing for flights!). I was unaware of the high cost of tourist visa, so i am now reconsidering staying for longer in China. So I have two questions really... 1) Is there a cheap visa that would allow me to enter Beijing train station, then get train to Tianjing before flying out? All within 24hrs) 2) If this is not possible, what visa do you recommend for a 72 hour stay? Thanks

Hello,

I will recommend you to take a flight to Tianjin or Beijing and then take a flight out from the same city. This may be expensive but you can stay 72 hours in Beijing or Tianjin and you don't need the visa.

If you arrive in Beijing and then leave for Tianjin to take a connecting flight and your layover in China is not more than 24 hours, you may use the 24 hours free transit. In this case, the visa is not required.
