Student visa change into family visit visia

I'm an American citizen, currenly live in China with student visa. If Iget married with a chinese citizen, can I apply Q1(family visit) visa in Hong Kong or Thailand?Or I need go back to US. Thanks.

GUEST04154 Actually, you can try to change the student visa to family Q1 visa at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can be done, you don’t need to go back to US or apply in other countries.
