L visa validity

guest04222 I have been told that a L (tourist) visa is only good for 60 days so we should not apply too soon. That doesn't sound right, but is it?

GUEST40882 Yes, it's valid for only three months, so it's not advised to apply for it too early.

GUEST90130 Read your visa again, there is an expiration date and duration of visit - two different things.

- If the duration listed is 60 days, it means 60 days from the day you entered China.
- You must enter China before the expiration date listed.
- Other requirement is to have a valid passport with at least 6 months left before it expires.

It's always a good idea to check with your local Chinese Consulate. They set the rules.
