72 hours free transit in Beijing
Jan 31, 2017 08:00
guest28165 I need some assistance with the conditions of the 72 hours free transit in Beijing. I am founding different information on different websites. Beijing immigration services do no answer the phone and Air China does not have the information

As per most websites the 72 hours count from the time you land. However some websites I found that just in Beijing from 2016 the 72 hours start to count at 00.01 of next daty of the arrival.

I my case I am landing at 14.45h on 24th and departing at 20.00h on 27th which is just over 72 hours so I would really appreciate a clarification.

GUESTRICHARD I arrive China (Beijing) Mar 10 2017 4:55 PM via United Airlines and leave Mar 13 2017 flt CA959 1:40 PM. I have a confirmed flight but Air China will not post our seat assignments (3D, 3G) on our flight itinerary although we have them. MUST MY SEAT ASSIGNMENT BE PRINTED ON THE ITINERARY? Our departing flight is listed just not the seat assignment.

I am in the same situation.
I will arrive in Beijing on 3/20/2017 1:15 am depart 3/23/2017 5:25 pm
That is approx 88 hours elapsed time. However, I also have seen websites
that say that in Beijing the 72 hours does not start counting until 00:01 am the
FOLLOWING day AFTER arrival and Transit Visa issued in Beijing airport.

The Cheapest cost of a regular tourist visa for US citizen for China is over $220.
Please share with me what you know.

thanks,

I also heard about this. It's very possible that you can still enjoy the 72-hour visa-free transit in Beijing. You can contact Beijing Airport Immigration Inspection at 0086-10-56095400 to confirm your situation.
