Hi. In Feb 2006 I will be embarking on a 10 000km train journey from Vladivostok to Moscow (where I grew up before moving to South Africa).
I am landing in Beijing on Feb 5 and will be looking for the best way to get to Vladivostok.
I understand Beijing to Harbin (via train) and Harbin - Vladivostok (fly) is the best option.
Any suggestions?
Background: (I am a 22-year-old journalist from S.Africa. I am embarking on a two-month self discovery journey in Feb 2006 into Russia, passing through China and later Germany).
I will also look to stay in China for a few days.

Hi, I would like to know of other border crossings from China to Russia. I have heard that foreigners are not allowed to cross from Heihe to Blagoveschensk. What about from Fuyuan to Khabarovsk? How is the travel from Beijing to Fuyuan? What about the crossing from Hunchun?
