7 day visa extension needed because staying 31 instead of 30days. Help!

Hi
I am flying into Guangzhou, China on 28th March and flying out on 27th April. Flights are booked. I calculated this as 30 days but it is in fact 31 days. I assume I will need to apply for 7 day visa extension to my 30 day visa or have to pay a fine for 1 day overstay.
Can you advise?
a) Can or shoud I apply for 7 day visa after I enter China?
b) If after, how long before departure date of 27th April should I apply?
c) Our departure city will be Shanghai. Should I apply in Shanghai?
d) What is the procedure for application, what documents will I need and what is the visa extension fee?
I am a British citizen.
Many thanks
John

GUEST04154 Dear, in my opinion, you don't need to extend your visa. The stay duration is calculated from the day following your arrival, so you won't overstay for one day. As long as you leave on April 27th, you will encounter no problems.
