It's about 1600 km from Guangzhou to Zhengzhou, you can take a train which takes about 16 hours,
a ticket of soft sleeper cost about 500yuan, and 350 for a hard sleeper.

you can take a flight too, the airfare from guangzhou to Zhengzhou is about 1350yuan. By the way, zhengzhou is the transportation hub of Henan province, once you get to Zhengzhou, you can easily go to Kaifeng by bus or car
