I will go to Xiamen. I wonder the current climate in Xiamen, and is it convenient to travel to Shanghai from Xiamen by train?

One should have no problem taking a train from Xiamen to Shanghai.
I took one in 1987 paid with FEC(foreign exchange certificate), because the FEC was the only legal tender for a foreigner then.
The overnight trip was smooth and trouble free, I shared a cabin with three Cadres, total strangers.
It should be more convenient now.

Train is possible (as far as I know, but I can be wrong, there is one direct train Shanghai-Xiamen, takes 24 hrs), a flight is a bit more expensive, but is definitely faster ;-)
Climate should be quite nice these days, actually the climate in Xiamen is quite nice all year round I believe (not too cold in winter, not too hot in summer)
