Has anyone travelled to the south of Yunnan Province, such as Xishuangbanna?

The lonely planet guide to China recommends a 2 day trek from Damenglong. What do you know?

We leave in less than two weeks! We're in North China planning to escape the cold.

hi i have been doing a lot of reading about this area.Its influenced by the surrounding countries Thailand,Burma,Laos should be a very interesting area!I plan on traveling there in april 05.check out rough guide travel book has good info on treks Mark

Hi, it looks like we're all in the same boat. We want to go to Yunnan around the same time but aren't sure how. How about we share tips? I'm doing things in rather a rush unfortunately, I hope I get myself properly sorted in time.

I haven't got the Rough Guide but I'm going to have a look at Lonely Planet now Mark. Perhaps if they agree, we'll know the best.
