What is the best way (cheap & reliable) means to travel around Hangzhou (to get to the scenic spots and other places of interests)? I can speak Chinese fluently. :) How many days does it takes to cover Hanzhou nicely? Any recommended hotel to stay? Thanks.

If you can speak Chinese, the most convenient and economical way should be the public bus inside the city and tourist bus to the scenic spots. Buy a tourism map of the city when you arrive there, you'll find no difficulty to go around. 3or 4 days in Hangzhou will cover most of the worth-visiting places and one or two water towns. For the hotel, what's your budget firstly?

Abbey, Since you can speak Mandarin flunetly, there are 2 ways to travel around Hangzhou :- 1. On your own using a bicycle - this u need to be quite fit and choose the cool season to do it. 2. Join a local tour - value for money and an opportunity to mingle with the Chinese people. hangzhou is not big. So I think 2-3 days should be sufficient to have a good idea of this old city. Enjoy.

I think the YHA in Hangzhou are good. There are seven YHA in Hangzhou now, and they can provide cheaper and better service. When I was in Hangzhou, I stayed in Xinyu Hostel. u can check on the offical website of YHA: http://www.yhachina.com/
