Hi! I'm thinking of travelling to Yangshuo and Guilin in March 2006 and am unsure as to whether or not I will need to take anti-malarial medication or not. Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks!!!

Don´t worry no malaria. I was there in may 2004 and I am still alive.

I don't think a vaccination is necessary at all.
Enjoy your traveling!

GUEST84121 Hi there,

I am thinking of travelling to Guilin, Yangshuo and LongSheng the first week of June. I read it is the monsoon season. Could you please describe how bad it is? Does it prevent one from visiting certain areas e.g. the rivers or the rice fields? How does it rain? Is it a whole day rainstorm or is it just a sudden rainstorm lasting one hour and then sunny weather? What are the temperatures? Are there many mosquitos at this time of the year? Is there any risk of malaria or dengue fever? Do you think it is a suitable time to visit for my 55 year old parents? Thank you Petra
