Visit Hohhot and it's surrounding grasslands

I will be in China the end of Sept. I would like to visit Hohhot and it's surrounding grasslands. Should I depend on my hotel to set this up for me? Which of the three major areas of grasslands do you reccommend I visit? I will be traveling by myself.

Gegentala Grassland and Xilamuren Grassland are both good. I suggest you visit the grasslands before October. It becomes quite cold from the end of Sep every year.
