Booked on a tour through China, departing Hong Kong mid Dec 2005 (3 Gorges, Xian etc) through to Beijing and Shanghai in early Jan.... Understand it will be very cold.

Someone has mentioned that it is easy to buy good quality jackets (polar fleece, snow jackets etc) in Hong Kong much cheaper than in Australia... And to pack very light as its easy to buy warm clothes over in China.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions

Thanks

as i know, hongkong is known as shopping heaven.you sure can buy cheap but quality-good jacket. be prepared before you get to beijing when it will be very cold.

beijing is most beautiful in autumn,by the way.

There are many factory outlets in Fa Yuen Street, Prince Edward. When you are in HK, you can go there to take a look.
