Permanent Residency in China? Is it possbile?

I do not have any degrees but she has a Masters Degree, and her last job there was as a lecturer at a University. I do have a Criminal Record of Possession and Use of a tiny amount of Heroin, ($100 fine) some 12 years ago, nothing since.. In the last 8 years I have visited China for a month every year. I have disclosed my Criminal Record. We are hoping in the years to come to spend longer and longer periods of time in China. Perhaps live there. We have a Family home to live in in China. Will this be possible? A. Permanent Residence or B. Say 9 months in China, 3 months in Australia.
