Chinese ID expired - want to visit china

Hello,

A friend has a Chinese passport, but her Chinese ID has expired. She does not live in China. Heard that now Non-resident Chinese need a valid Chinese Passport and ID to enter...

Does she need her ID to entry China?
Will Customs issue her a temporary ID when she lands in Beijing?
When does the temporary ID expire?
