Transit visa (Beijing)
Jun 14, 2017 04:32
guestLawrence Hi,
So I'm fairly sure I've got this correct but just wanted to check. My girlfriend and I are travelling from the UK to Japan, and have a stopover in Beijing for a couple of days (less than 72 hours). As I understand it we just have to tell the airline when we check in (as we leave the UK) that we want to make use of the 72 hour transit visa, and then we get our passports stamped at immigration in Beijing. Is this correct or do I need to do anything else?

Also, on the way back from Japan (a week later) we have a flight that stops in Beijing, and then another flight that leaves from Beijing later, not on the same airline/ticket, so we have to collect our bags and check in again. Would we need to apply for another transit visa in this case? Are you allowed to use a transit visa within a week of using another one?

I just wanted to make sure so there's no problems at the airport!
Thank you very much!
