HELP!!!!Having x2 visa from one city and registering local police station in another?

As you know x2 visa doesn't need residence permit.But you think it would be problem if I register in another city which is my x2 visa not come from,or it's not important for them and the important thing is having updated address.(Visa will be by agent and no restriction with attendance ,so please do not answer me with this side like ''if you don't go to classes,they will kick you out,blabla'')I just wonder in the official side if I don't register where the school is located which sponsored me with the x2 visa.,what could happen? But if in the future, you need a non-criminal record certificate during your stay in China, there will be some trouble to get it.
