guest98387	My wife has a Kyrgyzstan passport and has permanent residence in New Zealand. She travelled to Kyrgyzstan through Urumqi 1 month ago without a transit visa no problem, her ticket has her returning on 31/08 back through Urumqi, Guangzhou to Auckland, she went to check at the Chinese embassy in Bishkek and thye say she must have a transit visa, but they are no longer issuing transit visas to Kyrgyz passport holders since the bombing of the embassy in Bishkek last year. I have checked with the Chinese embassy in New Zealand and they say there is no need for a transit visa as he will be transiting in China for less than 24 hours. She had an agent ring Urumqi airport and they say she must have a transit visa. Can anyone provide comment?, at this stage I amy have to buy her a new ticket that does not go through China.
