Hi
I will be travelling with Sinorama tour company Jan 20, 2018 for two weeks.
We will arrived in Beijing Jan 21 and will fly to Guilin on the 23rd, then to Yangshuo by coach and return to Guilin to fly to Bangkok on the 25th of January 2018. On Feb 1st we will fly from Bangkok-Guilin-Beijing. We will return home to Brutish Columbia, Canada on February 2nd 2018. simplified as follow:
Jan 21-22, 23 Beijing
Jan 24, 25 Guilin-Hangshou-Guilin
Jan 26 Guilin-Bangkok
Feb 1st Bangkok-Guilin-Beijing
Feb 2nd Beijing to home...British Columbia, Canada.
Will we still need to apply for a Tourist visa or will the 144 hour China visa free policy cover this itinerary.
If I need to apply for a visa I would like to apply for the visa now as I will be travelling during parts of September, November and December and need to have my passport on hand. I do not have my flights to and from Asia available to me from the travel company now but I have a receipt that says my tour is paid in full.
I do not want to run out of time and need to spend extra to put a rush on a Chinese Visa in January 2018.
Thank you for you help.
Sue

Hi Sue, as you will have multiple stops in China, I'm afraid you are not covered by the 144 hours free transit. For your first entry, you need to apply for a transit G visa or tourist L visa. For your second entry, if the total time you spend in China is within 24 hours, you may qualify for the 24-hour direct transit policy. In this case, you don't need the visa. If the time is longer, you need another entry visa and that means you should apply for a double-entry visa for the two times you enter China. If you are a US or Canadian citizen, you may try to apply for a 10-year visa now. But if you are not, you should wait until late October to apply from the country you are in at the time.
