| There are totally about 400-kilometer-long Great Wall sections of the Ming Dynasty in Datong. A section in the north of Datong is well-preserved, but not that famous. It is called "the Five Inner Fortresses". You may get to one of them, Zhenchuan Fortress, which is in Datong City. If it’s possible, rent a car. And also some famous sections, like Niangziguan Pass, Yanmenguan Pass and Pianguan Pass are scattered in Shanxi Province. However, they are not suitable for a day trip. |
