 | In the past i always traveled with the travel angency which i joined in, so i have never traveled by myself.However, Since my last trip to Guiling,Yangshuo i have a decision that i won't travel with travel angencies any more because i found that i couldn't really enjoy myself and experience the local life and culture. my tour became something like hurrying to every scenic spot,taking pictures,from which i viewed the scenery at hotel,and the most hateful forced -shopping in those traveling stores.i hope i will be able to travel by myself. now i am planning to go to Lijiang next month, but i don't have any experience of travling as a free person and i haven't found a companion with me yet because all my friends can't go for certain problems. i wish someone could give me suggestions or possibly accompany me if you're also planning a tour to the place. if you're interested, contact me on skype: Rainb0w200505(0 in Rainb0w is zero),or leave messages here. |

| hi , i am a beijing girl i went to lijiang 2 yeaes ago that time i was with another girl . i think if you wanna travel and have fun , of course by yourself and maybe with someoneelse , i went to guangxi last year alone , that was really goodtime , i met some guys but when i was alone really feel a little bit lonle , bit was good i decided everything .i am going to travel next monght , maybe sichuang not sure yet , are u interested this ? i have msn :hotmail.com|lucy12302000 |

| hello,lucy. Thanks for your suggestions. i am surpried at your tour to Guangxi by yourself.i've never had such kind of experience. Anyway, Sichuan is a great place worthing visiting,because you will find many amazing places around the province.But if you go to kangding, songpan where jiuzhai is located,or other places like those, Auguest is not the best time because it rains a lot in Auguest.Sometimes it can be dangerous. Of course if you mainly stay in the urban area,you will have a good time. |

| Hi Rainbow, I'd just like to encourage you to go it alone if you have to. It's not always easy to find traveling companions, but Lijiang is a good place to meet others you may be able to join up with. And even if you don't it is a good experience. Are you Chinese? If so you have the advantage that you can speak to lots more people than most foreigners, and with good English too you may be able to be of asistance to some grateful foreigners who would love to know more but cannot communicate. All you need is a sense of adventure, a flexible itinerary and a friendly attitude. You may just have one of the best holidays you've experienced. I know what you meet about the organised Chinese tours. Done one and never again. You'll love Lijiang, it's one of my favourite places. |

| I my next month journey to China will be more interesting as I know more about Lijiang here, almost everyone comes back from Lijiang has such an incredible impression of this place. I just can not wait for my journey. Hope I can make some friends there, it sounds I do not have to worry about this, :) Thank you all. |

| This summer in July I traveled alone from Kunming to Dali , then to lijiang for 10 days, weather was not ideal , most of time rainy, but I must say that Lijiang is most beautiful and cozy city I have visited in China . There is saying among Chinese : "Once you have been to Lijiang, your heart will be stolen by her", indeed I have got this feeling, I was so reluctant to leave , so that I decided to go back again between Nov and Dec 2005 . I am Chinese native speaker who lives in Belgium for 10years, in Nov , I plan to ga back China and go to Lijiang , first for travelling or just relax myself little bit after stessy work , then will see if there are some job or business opportunities. | I just returned from my 3rd visit to Lijiang. I still feel good about the place but I think it has inevitably become a bit too commercialised. At the same time, I discovered that there is another similar old town nearby - it's called "SuHe" Ancient Town. It is not as popular as the Lijiang Ancient Town. For this reason I found it more attractive. Try visit it - just about 6-7 kms from Lijiang Ancient Town. |
