Do I need a visa or transit Visa?!
Nov 28, 2017 17:43
guest14351 I booked flights through my credit card miles which I thought was cheaper and got me to go on an adventure, but now I'm worried!

I am flying:
JFK-PVG-SYD, SYD-PVG-PEK, PEK-PVG-JFK

This was all booked on one ticket, as a multi-city flight with layovers in PVG. But it is broken up into three flights. So my middle flight ends in Beijing, and then leaves from Beijing the next day. It is less than 72 hours in Beijing and Shanghai, and I was hoping to leave the airport. Can I get a transit visa or do I have to pay for a regular one? As a US Citizen.

Thank you!!!

GUEST40882 Dear, for your first stopover in Shanghai, you can enjoy the 144-hour visa-free transit. However, you transit in two cities during your second entry. Neither 72 or 144-hour free transit is applicable to you. If the time is limited to 24 hours, you still don't need the visa. However, if it is, you need to apply for a transit visa beforehand.
