dual citizen mandatory personal appearance at chinese consulate

guest00175 I heard that since i'm a dual citizen (united states and british), that i have to physically go to the chinese consulate in los angeles. i haven't been able to find anything online confirming this. does anyone here know if this is true? thx!

GUEST90130 In LA, the consulate doesn't do visas by mail, as far as I know. I always had to go in and apply. The only other way that I know of is if you travel with a group tour. Check their website for the latest information.

When you go in, show them your US passport only. If you show them your British passport they might tell you to apply from over there.
