Recently, Shanghai government proclaimed that the hotels of Shanghai would no longer provide disposables like toothbrush, comb, shaver and slippers since July 1, 2019. It leads to a lot of discussion.

There is no doubt that stop providing disposables is a good measure to protect environment. As the disposables always provided before, they were easily wasted by travelers. Besides the waste, most of the disposables are not degradable, which caused a large pollution. So most people are in favor of the policy.

However, someone still worries about the convenience when staying in hotels. People have been accustomed to the disposables offered by hotels and it is hard for them to change the habit quickly. What’s more, they hold the view that they should get a perfect stay experience if they have paid a good price for hotels.

In my view, it is really a good policy for environment and it will raise public awareness about environmental protection. There may be some problems at the beginning but things will become better gradually. What’s your opinion?
