Will a full china 10-year Visa work to get a US citizen from Hong Kong to Shenzhen?

This is for a US citizen.

I see that there is a $150 5-day visa to allow a visit to Shenzhen. This visa is not good for the rest of mainland china, but I can't find a website that says if a regular full China visa works in Shenzhen.

Does someone with a regular full China visa also need to get this special Shenzhen visa to go from Hong Kong to Shenzhen?
