In July this year,9-year-old Ella and 7-year-old Caitlin Wood created an on line petition to appeal to fast-feeders to not make and offer plastic toys at all. Most of the toys have been abandoned after several minutes’ playing, leading to great waste and serious harm to the environment. The petition gained more than 400,000 people’s support. As a result, McDonald’s and Burger King declaimed to decrease or stop supplying plastic toys in Britain. What’s more, Burger King offers another plan to recycle those toy and the children who give them back will get a KingJunior set meal. Most people support the action of canceling plastic toys. However, someone also thinks it reduces the attraction of those restaurants because there are still many children interested in these toys. Some people think it is okay for protecting the environment but there should be some replacements of the plastic toys, like books, free computer games to download, or some edible toys. In my view, it is really a good idea to reduce plastic pollution and should be extended to all the countries, but it is also necessary for those companies to consider some eco-friendly and interesting replacements.
