The Science teacher is to work closely with the team to deliver high quality Science curriculum to students aged 10 to 14 years old (Grade 7-Grade 9) with application of the IB MYP Science curriculum framework and IB philosophy. General expectations for the position: 1. Active participation in all school mandated training, workshop, and other professional development activities. 2. Active implementation of program philosophy of education, IB teaching practices, student-centered and constructive approaches to classroom management and instruction. 3. Create, design, maintain, and frequently update an active, supporting classroom environment that meets program standards and requirements. 4. Development, adaptation, implementation of subject specific curriculum to meet the educational goals of the program, and assigned students. 5. Development, adaptation, implementation of interdisciplinary curriculum to meet the educational goals of the program, and assigned students. 6. Assessment practices that are based on research; creation/adaptation, practices, implementation, recording of student assessments based on program practices and requirements. Based on the candidate's experience and our discussion in the interview, an MYP Science teacher may also be a homeroom teacher working alongside the local homeroom teacher to help class student development and management. Pay package: 1. Class size: max of 25 students in each class; 2. Salary: 23000-26000 rmb/m before tax (negotiable）; 3. Housing: 2000 rmb/m for housing allowance; 4. Working time: have to work from 8 am to 5 pm from Mon to Fri,1 hour for lunch, 1 hour for class planning in the afternoon, Summer and winter vacations during contract period will be fully paid; 5. All Chinese public holidays will be paid; 6. Provide work visa and paid insurance for teachers. Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher 2. A valid teaching degree, preferably PGCE 3. Knowledge of Science or relevant subjects 4. 2+ years teaching in the same field or relevant work experience in the science field 5. The motivation and skills to collaborate effectively 6.
