Hello, I understanding WeChat pay / AliPay are widely used in China. China is becoming a cashless society. As I am an American traveling in China. I do have an WeChat account, so can I link my American Credit card to my WeChat pay to pay for my goods or services like the locals?? If not, what is the other ways I can use WeChat pay?

GUESTLISA I read from the news since July 10, 2023, one can attach the foreign bank cards to WeChat pay or Alipay. But I don't know how it is going on in reality. I'm planning a trip to China, too.

yes , you can use the WECHAT pay or ALIPAY once you link them with your Credit card.
you can pay to the hotel, shops or supermarket by scanning their QR code.
but i am still strongly advice you take some cash in case your wechat doesn't work here .
All the shops still accept cash in China.

yes, you can definitely add your credit card.
