I'm planning on travelling for work on an irish passport to beijing and around the east coast of china for 5 days, then spending the weekend in hong kong, returning to mainland china via Zhuhai for approx. 5 days and then finally returning to hong kong for flight back to UK on the following weekend.
From my understanding both China and HK allow multiple entries without visa (so long as I don't over stay my 15 days visa free programme) but can someone confirm this please?

Yes, you understand the policy perfectly right.
On the first arrival in Beijing, you will get 15-day visa-free stay. Exit to HK, you are also visa-free there for up to 90 days.
Re-enter to Zhuhai in Chinese Mainland from HK, you will get another 15-day visa-free stay. Again, exit to Hk, another 90-day visa-free stay.
