Travel partner to water falls on along yellow river

STREAMMIND Points: Join Date: Aug 12, 2005 Status: offline	Hello, I will be traveling from shanghai along the yellow river about to kunming in the last half of sept and begining of oct, to see the waterfalls along it, the villages, etc. If anybody is interested in coming along for all or part that would be great. I have photographed many places but this is my first trip to Asia.

RITA Points: Join Date: May 10, 2005 Status: Offline	Did you mean ALONG the Yangtze River, because Shanghai is located by the mouth of the Yangtze River, not the Yellow River. Or perhaps you meant the Yangtze was muddy? :-)

Don't know that you'll see too many waterfalls along the Yangste. Do you know where you are going to start looking.
It's a long river, like it's name states Chang(long) Jiang (river) You'll need to be upstream of Yichang before you see much in the way of falls.
You will probably need to get off on some of the smaller tributaries.
I just did two of the Three Gorges again last week or so and waterfalls were not the main attraction. Outside the Gorges area there is little in the way of waterfalls that I'm aware of either as the terrain is not so condusive. Good luck with your hunt. Kunming is quite some distance from the River too. chongqing might be your destination?
