Shopping tips in Shanghai!

Hello All! i will be staying in Shanghai for a few nights in early october 05, Any tips for good shopping,bars? thanxs

For shopping avoid the tourist area around Nanjing Lu - it is nice for walking and a cup of coffee, but for shopping locals prefer XU JIA HUI. You can get there by metro, but at night you have to take a cab to return to your hotel - which can be quite challenging because everybody will do so....

For bars I would recommend Maoming Lu, Rui Jin Lu or the Xintiandi area....
