Which of the two is recommended? I am already planning a different less commercialized area, but if I can fit in one of these two as well, I am thinking about it. Best views of the wall is what I am seeking.

Thank you.

I've asked this question too because we're planning on visiting the Wall in a week's time. I get the impression that Mutianyu has nicer views than Badaling. Both are restored sections of the wall (cable cars) and are very busy tourist areas. I understand, however, that "Simatai" is a much better part to visit (as it is not entirely restored like the other 2 sections)but you need to be very fit to do the climbing and hiking here. We will have 2 young kids with us so Simatai is out of the question for us.

Among three recommended, the mutianyi is the best in term of crowd (less), safety (very god), facilities (good) and view (good but may not be compared to Simatai, i think).
