Wuhan / Wuchang - what's it like ?

Hi

I am a British guy and have just accepted a long term work contract in Wuhan, to be living in Wuchang (across river from Wuhan city so I am told). So that I can land there on my feet and know what is what, I am trying to find someone who knows the area well and can give me a few pointers.

Wuchang is a district of Wuhan City, there are a lot of universities and academes in this district. I have been there before. A nice place. But it's very hot in summer there.
