Zhujiajiao is worth the drive from Shanghai

We had the best time in Zhujiajiao a few days ago.  It is a cute little (approx. 60,000) town.  There is a lot of fun shopping, little specialty stores and markets.  The best part of town is Mercy Bridge.  You buy a goldfish for a few rmb and release it into the river as a show of mercy.  Then we took a gondola ride down the canals and under some centuries old bridges.  There are several beautiful gardens you can tour for a small fee.....and they are worth it!  BEAUTIFUL!

One thing to remember....bring your own toilet paper.  The one public bathroom we found was a marble box with a whole in it.  It was in a back alley, had no door or walls, so you had to be brave.  :-) 

Overall, a fun day trip adventure!
