This is just to tell everyone that I did it. I now have a job lined up in Xi'an, China. It is now October 27th and I leave November 25th...not much time to prepare but they are getting my work visa ready right now. I took a job with a chain school named "Kid Castle" and although I have seen ... Details

The first taxi ride you take will not be a dull one. I think this goes for most of China but I have only been in Xi'an. Getting a taxi for me was an easy task. I had long blonde hair so the taxis would spot me and just stop, even if I didn't wave them down! My first taxi ride was to the Drum Tower. ... Details

But I soon discover that Xi?an is where China?s Silk Road first began more than two thousand ... Details

Contrary to the general perception, China is not all about Beijing and Shanghai, I have found.

Who could imagine that what was once a piece of a quiet rural countryside in China, open fields with small hillocks ... Details

A few weeks ago, Andrea, Joey and I decided to spend a day-off Monday downtown. We wanted to seek out a few gifts to send home for Christmas, but our main objective was to head down to the 'Muslim quarter' and buy up some of the delicious, sweet peanut bars that we had discovered a month or so earlier. ... On Friday November 18, Tina invited us to venture outside of the city to climb up the famous Lishan mountain...or as Ivy calls it, the Lishan 'hill'. I admit it wasn't the biggest mountain in China, but it was still very high compared to the surrounding countryside. Most of it wasn't overly steep either ... Details

I realise that it has been quite a long while (or so it seems to me) since I have wandered into my blogger thoughts. So much has happened in the past few weeks I feel as though two months have gone by in an instant. I know that Boxing Day morning might feel like an odd time to venture into what is sure ... Details

During my first visit to Xi'an, my first destination was Libtong County where the famous Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum is to be found. After having a quick look at the Terra Cotta Warriors in the Pit 1 Museum, Ms. Nina, my guide suggested that we proceed to the Circle Vision Theatre and see the movie ... Details
