I've been in China now for two months. I teach English at a university in Xian (shee-ahn).I cruise around China, and I cruise around Xian. Xian, in China, is like where Kansas City is in America. But more hot in summer and lower humidity year-round, like Salt Lake City.
I really love China.I'm having ... Details

I visited the Terra Cotta Warriors, 20 miles east of Xi'an.

What do I know? This is my first visit to China and I've been here less than three months. So, my friend Nelson, a big-time travel guide, invites me to join him and Rose, his wife. Just a small group of us drove in a van to see Famen Temple and Qianling Tomb. And we experienced a unique meal.

I ... Details

I wonder, what do I want to get in this trip to Xian.
First, to feel the heroic atmosphere of the desert. Xian was the capital of thirteen dynasties of China. It was here that the territory of China was expanded. Without Qin Shihuang, there would be no China of today. I want to feel this heroic ... Details

During a two-week visit in Beijing, I had a free time on my first weekend, that my friend suggested I use it in seeing the one place I should not miss when in China, Xi'an..., once known as Chang-an (Everlasting Peace) and the intermittently appointed capital by 11 Dynasties for more than a thousand ... With over 3,000 years of history, Xian in the Shanxi Province was the
ancient capital of Chang An ( eternal peace) for the Qin, Han, Sui and of course
the Tang Dynasty. With a population about that of Singapore, Xian's history
will overwhelm you coming from a 1819 city state. The bing ma ... Details

Around 8 in the morning, we had our breakfast (the usual pickled cucumber, steamed buns, shredded beef, boiled eggs, porridge, etc.) and headed for the Huaqing Palace 30 km east of the city. Upon arriving, you can easily take notice of a big painted picture of a plump lady about to undress. I was told ... Details

In the afternoon of my second day in Xi'an, we set out for the Museum of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Terra-Cotta Warriors. It's definitely a site to behold! From the entrance you would easily see four huge buildings, but these buildings are in fact pits except for the fourth one which is actually an exhibition ... Details
