GUEST22135 I worked in Xuzhou city China in 2008. During national teacher day my students gave me apples. They had explained why they give apples at the time but I have since forgotten. Could someone please help me out?

Apple implicates "Peace and Safety". My friend sent me some apples at Christmas Eve. She hoped that I could be safe and well next year. I do not know if your students meant the same thing.

But apple has different implication for foreigners. I read that it means "trouble and temptation". Is this right?
