If you are not in a hurry, you needn't book the ticket in advance. But if you travel during Chinese holidays, it is better to book it in advance.

You can go to Qiaoshe Bus Station(侨社汽车站) to take long distance bus to Xiamen. The bus station is located on Heping Road near West Square of Shenzhen Railway Station.

Tel: 0755-25592947 (Make a call to see if they can reserve ticket).

O I can ask any person in Hong Kong to call to bus station for reserve ticket. Do you know if now the China Travel Service in Hong Kong can buy this ticket for me? Thank you

January 13 is the beginning of the Spring move, so there will be more passengers. I haven't heard about te service for bus ticket booking of other places.

If I were you, I would arrive at Shenzhen earlier and buy the ticket at the bus station. In this way, if i miss the early ones, I still can take later ones. But if you arrive late to take the last bus and miss it, you will get stuck in shenzhen. By the way, there is another bus station called Luohu (罗湖汽车客运站）near Luohu port and Qiaoshe bus station. THe station also has buses departing to Xiamen. Good luck~
