In ancient times, Xian was 1 of the most cosmopolitan cities in China/world. People from neighbouring countries worked and did business here. That's why u can see this ancient Chinese capital with people that didn't look Chinese at all.
Now the situation is being revived slowly. U will find more of these foreigners flocking tonot only Xian but all over China. It is the new land of opportunities - not plunder, I hope.
