Hi, I'm an English woman living and working in Japan and have booked a holiday to Xi'an for Christmas. Because I live in Japan all of the tours around Xi'an offered by the travel agents here would be in Japanese. I've booked a hotel and flight, but I can't find anywhere to book an English speaking tour of Xian that doesn't include accomodation. I can't drive, so renting a car to look around in isn't an option unfortunately. I've spoken to an English-Chinese friend and she thinks it's best to book before I go so that I don't get ripped off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a lot, Jenny

how many days do you want to stay in Xi'an ? you will see millions of people gather and rush to the downtown at christmas eve , and almost each hotel will hold some parties to entertain people .of coz the price is double or more higher than usual . it would be quite cold here , it snowed last Christmas . now that you've booked a hotel , it could be easier for you to ask the hotel to arrange a tour for you .most of them supply this service .

Hi Jennifer, My husband and I just left Xian after a 3 day tour there. The Terracotta warrior sight is about 1 hour from the city. Any taxi would be happy to take you there for around 200 yuen. You can also take a local bus full of chinese tourists from the bus stations. They are bus number 306 or 307 and they get you right there which is what we did for a low cost of 25 Yuen each... We also got an English speaking tour guide who was standing right at the entrance and spoke perfect English for around 100 yuen... There is nothing that can't be arranged for you in China. THe people here are extremely service oriented and will do anything to help. The warriors are their pride so I dont think you will have trouble getting there and finding a tour guide. Enjoy Sonia

Hi Jenny, I was just wondering how long you will be in Xi'an. I am a Canadian woman. I have been living and working in Korea for the past year. I will be traveling to China just before Christmas, although I don't think I will make it to Xi'an until after Christmas.
