GUEST38100 20 Yuan per hour may be fair for students of the English language to act as escorting interpreter, but far from enough for professional interpreter; you should also learn that translation rates are seldom determined on hours but actual wordcout.

GUEST02463 Please, I've lived in China for over a year and I've heard raciste comments, but that was just down right rude. Go learn some manners and don't quote shakespear for antisemitism. ''Jews are known as penny pinchers'' damn it, what the hell are you talking about? have you ever met a jewish person in your life? If not, go look for one and talk to them a minute!

By the way, someone who has never been to China might not know the rates for a intepretor, why not correct the person on the prices instead of insulting them?

And next time your about to say somthign raciste, think about it twice, you have NO RIGHT.

GUEST38162 It's simple, supply and demand. Don't accept insult salaries, that exploit years of sacrifice to offer your skills, abilities and talents. Get organized, and boycott these unfair wages!

Find my any professional, in their career, telling them, 20 yuan, which is like $2 dollars an hour and say that is reasonable, honest and fair!

In San Francisco of the USA, even a dish washer earn $9 an hour, that's 72 yuan an hour. And who thinks washing dishes is a professional career?

GUESTGABRIEL Ni Hao!
I would like to know if anyone knows someone that can offer English-Mandarin and Mandarin-English translation in Chongqing. I have been trying to find someone that is willing to charge honest prices, instead of taking advantage of people. I wanted to take a trip to Chongqing to meet a friend of mine that only knows Mandarin, but sadly my trip had to be cancelled because I was told that the fee for having a translator is 200 RMB per hour!!! I was unbelievably shocked because this is a total RIP-OFF!! If there is anyone that is willing to be a personal companion to me and my friend for several days, at a very reasonable hourly rate, then I would like to have a discussion with that person. Please contact me. My email address is: yahoo.com|gabrielpriore Please title the subject line: "Your Mandarin-English Translation Request".
--Thank you VERY much!!!
