well, i worked in shanghai for 6 month on an internship.I could say people are very nice and kind to me but the thing is in china only those people are happy about their country progress who did not experience exploitation from government........ see for those people whose home has been vanished for making high rise building and been paid very low compensation and were given place outside city very far from their work place, see those worker who has very less wages but cant raised their voice against government. There are not just these things, media in china is just a toy in government hands. people their hear only that , what their government wants them to hear, they have no idea of their own problem or they know only a few because they were all hidden, no idea of government corruption indiscripencies. but they are happy as far as they are not exploited. Here in india even a small activity is projected world wide by the media. I lived there i had a wonderful time everybody is still a great friend of mine but in office 2 chinese hardly had that connection or interaction. i dont know why but i felt chinese are less socially interactive and this i have experience in office ,in my appartment building every where my neighbours dont even know and care about other neighbour.... which is not the case in india here people are cencern and do care about with whome they are sharing moment. There is no point china has grown far better than india and will grow .......i dont care actually all i am happy about india sustainable and reasonal growth which is not done over the interest and good will of their own people and environment. there is lot more but leave it.........

GUEST75343 The whole problem with the world is that the unknowledgeable claims of knowing everything, but the knowledgeable is full of doubts and I think this thread suffers from the same problems... It is being commented by people who are mere observers and know about country/ies in question only as outsiders...

GUEST66169 I agree completely, as an Indian. It is true that in India, there is no feeling for the nation. We think like individuals, and act like ones too. It is sad that India does not look inward and identify its problems, rather than begging acceptance from the west for things, that the west consider, well, frivolous. For example- the commonwealth games- the most farcical event in history. maybe it is true that Indians are not genetically developed enough to rule themselves.

GUEST22221 I am from Africa, I studied in India and has lived in China for a long time. To be frank I think India has more resources to benefit its country than China. At the moment china is more economically developed than India. however if India gets it act right, the China will never catch it. India's weather conditions, geographical topography, knowledgeable population, attitude to diplomacy, strategic structure and location to the rest of the world will carry the day. And I think China is quickly realizing that and even almost offering what resembles a green card, teaching English in Schools so that they are not overtaken by India. I also think the fact that Indians are able to interact more with the outside world has more pluses than in china where even facebook and you tube is not allowed! I rest my case

GUESTRAJA Nobody can speak against government if something is goes wrong in china, while in india anybody can oppose, this matters positive and negative both,
but china is forward in manufacture and infrastructure only, when matter comes that how much a person owns in china..??....everybody stands on an equal level....a labor=to a businessman...lols

China has been changed in last 10-15 years, everybody knows that, but India has been also changed a lot, but rare peoples knows it,

India has big gap bet. rich and poors but china has also the same one

"Made in China"... peoples seeing this label as a tag of low quality in the world, but India is not known for this,
Brands like nokia, prefers to write MADE BY NOKIA instead of MADE IN CHINA on their products, while you can see clearly MADE IN INDIA on India made nokias,
Quantity definitely matters but Quality also cant be UNDER ESTIMATED
This differs CHINA and INDIA
