| Why are you going to these places, ie what's your purpose of going there? Taizhou (I presume you mean the one in Jiangsu province) is about 3.5 hours each way by bus from Shanghai, fare 85 RMB. Best option for Ningbo would be D train from Shanghai South train station, or bus from Shanghai South long-distance bus station. Figure on 3-4 hours each way, fare is 51 RMB for 2nd-class seats on the train, or 90 RMB for the bus. Best option for Zhangjiagang (not familiar with Fenghuang nor Tangqiao) would be bus, about 2.5 hours each way from Shanghai, fare 54 RMB. |

| If your financial budget allows, I think the best way would be to arrange for a vehicle and driver to pick you up at the airport (are you arriving at Hongqiao SHA, or Pudong PVG?) and drive you to Ningbo. Next best would be to get an airport transfer or taxi, and arrange train tickets in advance for a D train to Ningbo via Shanghai South train station. I do freelance guiding and might be available to help depending on your dates. | If you're arriving at Pudong airport, just fly to Beijing or Xi'an, whichever you prefer. Probably not worth the trouble of coming into town to take a train, and you'd have to wait quite a few hours for the overnight train anyway. I haven't been to Huashan but I doubt it's "easy" for a daytrip, especially considering the difficulty and amount of people. It seems that you're really not interested in walking/climbing. No offence but I would then advise you NOT to bother visiting any mountains in China. It's a waste of time and money (especially the latter). For the "city stopover sight", I would recommend that you try Shanghai Museum which's in People's Square. There's left luggage service there for free IIRC, or you could also detour to the main train station to leave your luggage there. No lockers at either, but there's left-luggage service at both. Yes, there're buses for Suzhou -- Hongqiao/Pudong airport. Hongqiao is closer. I think it takes about 2-3 hours depending on traffic conditions.
