that's depend on your budget , RMB 1500-2500 is enough to buy a nice camera for casual use

I am happy with my Canon Ixus 55 Camera for the following reasons:

- very easy to use
- compact (about the size of a deck of cards) and durable
- large 2.5" LCD screen
- good battery life (when fully charged, can take about 150 - 200 shots)
- produce good quality shots (see my photos in the Photo Album)

I would recommend Canon Ixus 60, an improved version of Canon Ixus 55 Camera (it should be better than my camera). It should cost not more than RMB 3000.

Suggest you read digital camera reviews (eg. http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html) before making your final decision.
