I have a Fuji S3500/3100, which uses the x-D card, the same format as Olympus. It appears that there in no ‘2GB’ card [currently] available in the x-D format; however, I recently purchased a 1GB x-D card for US $48.33 from an internet based company here in the US. There are other 1GB x-D’s from various vendors available here, in the same price range, ($48-52). Therefore, if a 2GB were available, it would, most likely, still be in the US $100 range. This is why it appeared to me, that the pricing was similar and competitive, notwithstanding the format of the card. Obviously, prices seem to vary throughout the world. There is, however, so much intense product competition in the USA, and so much pressure from discount stores such as Wal-Mart and Best-Buy etc. as well as the on-line sellers, that prices for certain products, may be much lower here, than in other regions of the world. OLYMPUS XD-PICTURE CARD, 1-GB W/PANORAMA Mfg Part # (200495) $48.33 Availability: We Have 3,066 In Stock Now

I have used the following brands of cameras before: Canon (Digital) Nikon (Digital) Olympus (Film) Yashica (Film) Pentax (Film) I have no major complaints with these cameras except Pentax ie. the quality of the photos was not very good. Anyway, that camera was bought many years ago. I don't think I would buy a Sony Camera. Somehow, I have the impression that Sony is very good for TVs and Digital Video Camcorder but not as good, in Camera.

I'm considering to buy a digital camera recently, but I have no idea about it. Any recommendation? I don't need a professional one, but the quality of the photos should be good. And also the camera should be easy operated since my parents are not good at those 'high-tech productions'.
