![]() | Hey. I am considering visiting China in july for 3-4 weeks. I dont really care where I fly to originally - I dont have any particular destinations in mind. Can anyone recommend a cheap destination airport (flying from the UK)? Are there good travel links within china? If so, it doesnt matter where I go to at first, because I can travel elsewhere anyway. Thanks --Joe |

![]() | Hi Joe, I do not know what anyone else will suggest but why not fly into Beijing first, that way you will be near the Great Wall, and near where you can visit Xian and see the Terricotta Warriors at least for a start. They have reasonable hotels in Beijing and someone else might be able to give you information on tours. I wish you a good trip. |

![]() | Hi. Thanks for the reply. I can fly to either Beijing or Shanghai for about the same price of £345 I think they are the main airports served by the UK (as well as Hong Kong) Do you think I will "survive" if I just go there, with no real plans, and no people I know? |

![]() | Hi Joe, I think it would be best if you find a guide whichever airport you fly into. Some guides have posted their addresses on these pages and if you look on the other pages you could find one and contact them yourself. They say they very reasonable and they speak English but in any case you will have to have one. I myself went into Shanghai without knowing anyone but I was meeting my future wife and I did not have to worry about a tour guide. I hope you have a good trip and enjoy your stay. Take care |
