Are the carry-on size limits the same for Air China as US airlines? I have a 2000 cubic inch day pack that measures almost exactly 22x14x9. If that is too big, I would like to know because I am packing now and don't want everything in checked baggage.

This topic has been discussed before, I think. Let me try to find the former thread.

That topic deals with checked luggage I believe. What are the dimensions of carry-on luggage that Air China will allow? I'm leaving for a 3 week trip around China on Monday and I need to bring my brother his laptop, well insulated.

Carry-on the laptop! It will surely be broken if transported as checked baggage. I've had a number of laptops broken in air travel over the years.

Oh...I didn't give the basic information. The Chinese airlines I flew Air China and China Southern (???) followed the American standard for carry-ons. ...enforcement was liberal.

GUEST03225 | hi, i m leaving for beijing from Delhi (India). What is the allowed checked luggage weight? |

generally, airlines' check-in counters do not check the weight of carry-ons - unless the cabin baggage is too big for carrying on board.

Checked luggage weight depends on your airline and what class you're flying. The standard seems to be 20 kg for economy class.

Yes, 20 kg is standard but some times they consider more 5 kilos
