I want to cook some Aussie (or any foreign food they aren't used to) for my Chinese friends but all I have to work with is a wok. The only things I can think of are pasta and hamburgers, other than that anything I could cook won't be that different to what they're used to. Any suggestions?

Oh, it's really hard. I can't cook tho. How about salad? Seafood? Fries? Wines from Aus? Or order a pizza.:P Enjoy your cooking!

Yes, Someguy, I have had this problem. You could buy a saucepan and then u have a few more options. How about a stew with REAL dumplings? Mashed potatoes is always popular. And serve a simple desert. But serve the food in dishes with spoons and persuade themn to serve portions. This is part of the difference as much as the food itself. \ Good luck

Mashed potatoes is an excellent idea, I've done this for Chinese friends. Try adding some leeks or chilli to liven it up a bit... oh, and if only I could get some real cheese here to melt on top..... mmmmmmmmm. A French friend of mine makes some delicious cold dishes. Try buying some tuna and stuffing tomatoes/boiled eggs with it. Even better if you can get your hands on some mayo!

You are great, Cali. Northern men in China are not good at cooking in general.
